Regenerating Bellsmyre: Our Proposed Plans
As you may know, we have been working with West Dunbartonshire Council and the Scottish Government to develop a broad and ambitious regeneration strategy for the Bellsmyre area. We are proposing a major regeneration for the Bellsmyre community which, when it proceeds, will bring better living conditions and higher quality housing to the area.
The Bellsmyre Regeneration project proposals consist of building new, modern homes that will replace some of our traditional, but less popular, tenement flats. We propose to build 180 new, affordable homes to replace 225 older, less popular tenement flats.
After the recent development of Our Lady and St Patricks High School and opening of the new primary schools and early learning centre, we believe this regeneration process would breathe further life into the Bellsmyre area and encourage individuals and families to make a home in Bellsmyre.
Should these proposals go ahead, they will, due to the size and scale of the investment and funding requirements, also have a significant influence on the future of the Bellsmyre Housing Association and its position within the overall Caledonia Housing Association Group structure.
We would like to invite you to the launch briefing on Tuesday 5 March at The Cutty Sark Centre, 58 Howatshaws Road, Dumbarton G82 3DR, between 2.00 and 8.00pm.
Our team will be on hand to discuss any questions or queries you may have regarding the regeneration proposals. However, if you can’t make it, our regeneration exhibition will be available to view in the Bellsmyre Housing Association office, 16 Merkins Ave, Dumbarton G82 3EB from 6th March to 22 March.
The Tenants Information Service (TIS) have been appointed as your independent adviser during this important consultation. TIS are there to give you independent advice and information about the regeneration proposals. You can call TIS on Freephone 0800 731 372 (during office hours) if you have any questions. Should you have anything you wish to discuss about your own circumstances, we would be happy to arrange a one to one discussion with one of our regeneration team at a later date to discuss how this affects you and your home. Get in touch by emailing email@example.com and one of our team will get back to you.
Your views on our proposals are important to us, please come to the event and drop into the office to let us know what you think. You can also get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or completing our short online survey for residents, which you can access by clicking HERE
It’s an exciting time for Bellsmyre and we look forward to discussing our proposals with you. We hope to see you soon.
